RHQ

Role. RHQ is the Regiment’s permanent home base. It provides stability and continuity; ​and manages regimental affairs to maintain a strong Regiment.

It is responsible for delivering the direction it receives from the Board, HQ Inf Home Command, and the Charity Commission, taking full cognizance of the legal requirements placed upon it. In doing so it runs the day-to-day administrative business of the Regiment.

Mission. RHQ has four key tasks with two enabling functions common to all four:

Tasks

Govern.  Administer, manage resources, execute Regimental directives, set policy, direct​.

Support the Present​.  Focus on Our People –

Who: serving, veterans, cadets, civic communities, and affiliates.

How: collectively sustain the Regiment eg recruiting, nurturing, espirit de corps activities, and provide:

Individual support e.g., advice, sign posting, regimental grants and benevolence​.

Shape the Future​.  Meet emerging requirements and stay relevant. ​

Honour the Past​.  Maintain standards and traditions; protect our heritage (including property and chattels); and cherish our history.​

Enabling Functions

Underpinning these tasks are two key common Enabling Functions: Communicate and Engage

IOT: Maintain the Regiment’s effectiveness, espirt de corps and heritage

Structure. RHQ is staffed by a civil service team, with military support as required and, if necessary, civilian staff funded by the Regimental Charity. It is organised functionally to deliver its Mission and is headed by the Regimental Secretary whose role is analogous to a CoS or CEO.

  • Regimental Secretary. Runs RHQ.
  • Assistant Regimental Secretary – Resources. Responsible for all regimental resources, including finances.
  • Assistant Regimental Secretary – Personnel Support Officer.
  • Assistant Regimental Secretary – Communications.
  • Assistant Regimental Secretary – Engagement. Includes oversight of the recruiting effort and particularly the management of officer recruiting.
  • Assistant Regimental Secretary – Heritage. A new post to be recruited.
  • Chief Clerk.
  • Shop and heritage. A civilian post responsible for the regimental shop and the management of regimental chattels and property.
