The King's Man Film Premiere

The King’s Man is the prequel to the Kingsman: The Secret Service . The film, a WWI espionage thriller, centres on the actions of a line infantry regiment and the foundation of a society of ‘King’s Men’.

The 1st Battalion worked with 20th Century Studios and the Walt Disney Company to highlight the link between the film’s title and the unique designation of our private soldiers – Kingsman.

Thirteen international ‘influencers’ from 20th Century Studios were hosted by 1 LANCS at Dale Barracks for a 2-day event. The influencers were put through their paces conducting night training, battle PT and camouflage and concealment with our Sniper Pl. The event ended with a Regimental Dinner Night hosted by the WO & Sgts’ Mess.

The Battalion was then invited to parade at the premiere of The King’s Man in Leicester Square, London. The guard marched down the red carpet to the beat of the Battalion’s Drums, before joining stars from the film on the red carpet.

2nd Battalion redesignated 3rd Battalion the Ranger Regiment

The 2nd Battalion has been redesignated the 3rd Battalion the Ranger Regiment. This milestone was marked by a parade on 1 December 2021 at Pirbright, where the Colonel of the Regiment presented the ‘new’ battalion with their new capbadge and beret. Other associated uniform changes included a new TRF and stable belt.

While the few private soldiers in the battalion will not be called Kingsman, we will nevertheless retain very close links with the battalion and we will remain the parent regiment for those from The Duke of Lancaster’s, who make up the large majority of the new battalion, and they will return to us at the end of their Ranger tour.
